Is it safe?

I have ran out of breast milk bags. I currently cant go buy more. I have searched only with no help. My question is.... is it safe to store my breast milk in freezer bags? Zipploc bags?

  • Do you have any glass jars? That would be my first choice. Do you have any of those Tupperware type plastic containers? Those would be my second choice and ziplocks my third.

  • Yes... any freezer bag is safe. Lactation consultant actually told me to go that route since it is so much cheaper.

  • I'd use freezer bags over plain bags if you have them, but yes, it's safe.

  • You can store expressed milk up to 8 days in the fridge. Plenty of time to get more bags.
