Starting a new job...

When starting a new job, when does one usually start to get the sick and personal days off? I know its 90 days to get benefits, but is it also 90 days to get days off?

  • That is a question for HR
Each company handles these things differently.

  • Soem places will let you use sick time immediately but beware! Use too much too soon and they could decide you're not working out.

  • At my job new employees are given one or 2 weeks of both sick and annual leave at the start.

  • Depends on where you work. You'll probably be given a handbook or a spiel that goes over all that stuff when you start.

  • Any job I've had, you start to accrue sick leave and vacation time from the start but you can't use it for 6 months
