  • I would wait another month before introducing food. Talk to your dr about this.

It's been awhile, but I believe I started feeding my baby rice cereal first. My baby is almost 13 so it's been a few years.

  • why do you want to put him on solids?

  • I started with rice cereal at about six and a half months, then went to Gerber First Foods, veggies and fruits. From there, I went to Cheerios, cheese puffs, small pieces of banana and strawberry, yogurt, etc.

  • Phlegmy chest... so he's sick?

Nothing for right now. Get him over being sick. You don't want to add another factor, because some babies get tummyaches on solids.

Google BABY LED SOLIDS for lots of info. No cereal needed. It's icky anyway.

  • Do NOT feed you child anything without you doctor's permission. You NEVER start a child on anything new when they are sick. Please call your pediatrician and make an appointment.

  • I started my DS on some foods at 4 months as this was suggested by my doctor. Started off with very small amounts of baby rice mixed with his usual milk.
I'd wait until your little one is feeling better though.

  • Wait until the Dr. OK's solids.

  • Cereal is the beginning of solid foods.....

  • And baby cereal has no nutritional value....

I gave my little one some rice cereal at first, and she just puked it right back up. I tried giving her some 2nd foods (Gerber), she refused those. When I started giving her little bites she could feed herself with, that's when she really started eating solids. She's 10 months old now, and still mostly breastfed.

My suggestion is to just wait till baby can feed himself, and do soft, finger foods. (I would recommend against going with corn or peas until they are much older...I found peas shoved up into my kids' nostrels/ears, and corn is just a NASTY diaper to clean up).
