What kind of medication is available for pregnant women who have a cold?

I'm ok atm, but my DS is really under the weather, and of course being very clingy and coughing and sneezing all over me, I feel a slight scratchy throat coming on and was just wondering if I get a full on cold, can I take more than just paracetamol?

  • I remember my OB telling me Tylenol cold was okay to take. It never hurts to ask them at your next appointment if you haven't gotten sick by that time (hopefully not at all).

  • If ok'd by the doc I like things like gypsy cold cure and throat coat.
Or this, which needs no doc approval.

  • I would call your OBGYN
I know DD had a cold at one time and the doctor told her some medication but I can't remember which.

  • I think my doc said Dimetapp was acceptable. But that was 6-7 and 10-11 years ago.

  • Hot tea and chicken soup is about it, unfortunately. Wash your hands constantly and keep them away from your face to minimize your chances of getting sick.

  • Any of the cold medicines made with the Tylenol name. When you go to the drug store ask the pharmacist to recommend something to you.

  • Your DOCTOR can help you with this better than we can.

  • Thank you all. I will of course be asking a doctor or pharmacist when I actually catch a cold, don't feel the need to waste their time at the mo! Thanks again!
