Do you know of anything OTC or natural to recommend for rosacea?

I am having an outbreak on my forehead, and I'm wondering if anyone has had success before I head to a dermatologist. I do plan on looking at some dietary changes to see what might be promoting it.

  • I don't think any home remedies will help with mites

  • I've always had to do a round of at least topical, sometimes topical and antibiotics if it's gone too long. On the upside, since I switched to using only Cetaphil, they've been fewer and farther between.

  • Prosacea works wonders.

I've also noticed that if I keep my skin clean, keep my hair off my face (I would like to have bangs but since I stopped having bangs, I have stopped having out breaks on my forehead), wear make up as little as possible and touch my face as little as possible. If I do all of that, I've noticed my face looks a lot better.

I've also heard of washing your face in rubbing alcohol. I think that would dry the skin out too much.

  • I'm confused, butterfly. What does mites have to do with rosacea?

  • I've read about mites being a possible cause, but it's not confirmed. I will try switching my cleanser to Cetaphil. Maybe the grapefruit scrub I'm using now is too irritating.
