  • Could be either. Any contractions? Some women efface and dilate long before labor. Regular contractions or water breaking is when you should head to the hospital other than that. Look at is as a good thing... the more you do now the less you do in the hospital

  • Well not active full blown labor but the early stages could take a few more weeks or it could happen tonight... trust me you will know when you are in labor and if you start having contractions don't go to the hospital right away they usually wont admit you unless your dilated to a 5.If you start having contractions but arnt sure if they are the real thing go for a walk or take a warm bath if they are real they Don't go away and they will get more painful and closer together. If you are not sure its the real thing when your having contractions call your DR or call your mom/baby unit at the hospital they will tell you what to do. hope this helps

  • When you are in labor you will have contractions that you can't talk through. Most hospitals tell you to wait to go to the hospital until contractions are 5 min or less apart or your water has broken. You can be dialated and effaced for weeks before going into labor, expecially if this is your first. Just keep moving, walking , stairs, sex all can help things along. GL

  • i was dialated to 3 cm for 3 weeks before i actually went into labor..if you're not having contractions, you're not in labor. but it does mean labor is near so dont travel too far from home or hospital
