My 6th grader has an essay assignment about their favorite place. She picked home (Which I thought was sweet) During the pre-write they have to come up with similes & metaphors & here's what she said about our bushes out front: "In the winter, the bushes look like Key Lime Pies w/ Whip Cream." - I told her I really liked that description. Then she said, "Well it was close to lunch time & I was hungry" LOL ;p

They also have to use descriptions using the senses & she made a list including several funny & embarrassing ways to describe our house. I bet the teacher will get a kick out of reading this assignment. :0

Please share some of your funny moments w/ your family :)

  • Key Lime Pies with Whipped Cream--that's really creative. You might have a future writer on your hands.

My kindergartner had to tell her class what her parents' jobs were. She said, "My dad fixes watches and my mom reads boring old books."

  • I asked my niece who is 2, what would she like for Christmas and she said peanuts. Oh well that's easy but then her mom told me that's how she says

  • Aww come on with a screen name like "funlovinlady" I'm betting you have a few stories to share ;p

^^Ballad: kudos to your little one for her brutal honesty - lol ;p

^^Staci: glad you're back & I bet your company just loved that little tidbit of personal info - lol ;p

^^^Pink: how cute - I think I'd still get her a small container of peanuts anyway just for the heck of it (along w/ what she really wants of course) :)
