  • You don't feed them the candy and stuff that's unhealthy. It's as simple as that

  • Unless he has independent wealth and transportation the issue is with YOU and not him.

He can't drive to the store.
He can't pay for the junk.

    That's all you Momma.

He won't starve himself - just provide nutritious, delicious alternative to the crap and he'll catch on.

  • Make them look fun. Cut healthy sandwiches into fun shapes, make the veggies look like flowers. Also, let them see YOU eating the healthy stuff with a smile on your face! They learn by example!

  • offer only healthy foods meal after meal snack after snack. your child won't starve and stop buying the junk. If it's not there they won't ask for it.

  • Right on Wimsey...could not have said it better myself !!!

To get him excited have him get involved in picking out some fruit and even use it as a learning experience. Get home and cut up the pieces and make a fruit salad/funny face etc...

For other snacks, string cheese with a small handful of animal crackers and things like that is fine too. You don't have to make "sweets" untouchable, just introduce him to a balanced diet.

Water is always best, but if he is already use to drinking soda try to switch to 100% juice. Still limiting his intake though. Have him pick out some juice pouches, or a a new flavor to try.

Just make the "Diet" change fun and sound exciting and he will follow your lead.

  • Children only have access to what you give them access to. Don't have it around.
Have children help make healthy meals-- In our preschool, children prepare the veggies for a veggie soup, help divide cheese and crackers, grind grains for porridge, knead dough for bread... Every day of the week is a different project. The children eat very healthy organic vegetarian foods! :-)

  • honestly your child can only eat what you give him/her if you dont give it him/her then they wont eat it. tell him/her that either he eats or he will not get nothing else to eat and if he/her decides not to eat it then dont throw it away put it in the microwave or something and if they get hungry later and ask for something to eat then give that to them instead of wasteing food. or make them sit there until they do eat it. thats what i do and believe me it works
