How can you keep lettuce fresh for longer in the fridge ?

  • I put it in a ziploc bag with a moist paper towel

  • I buy Romaine...... rinse it, let it drain some, and them put in a square rectangular Tupperware container with a tight lid. When I used to buy Iceberg I would run it under cold water, take the stem out, and put it in one of those round plastic lettuce keepers that acommodated the entire head. Either way it keeps for at least a week or more.

  • I don't buy lettuce much anymore, but when I was living alone, I used to get those gallon-sized Ziploc bags with tiny air holes all over them that were designed to keep salad fresh.
