What's the solution

My daughter is 22 months old, and she refuses to stop drinking from a bottle and drink form sippy cups. I recently went to a Dr appt with her and her Dr told me her front teeth would be ruin if she doen't let the bottle go . Now i have tried everything from cartoon shape cups to princess cups she still refuse, whenever i give her milk from a bottle she throw it on the floor is there any mom on here going through the same thing and how did you deal with it? your advice will be appreciated.

  • In front of her you take all the baby bottles and trhow them in the trash anst tell her she is not a baby anymore. Only little babies drinke from bottles. Don't cave in and buy another one.

  • Don't give in to her whim, keep giving her the receptacle you want her to use when she sees she is not getting her way she will give in, it is a battle of who wins here.....

  • Throw away the bottles and keep offering her a sippy cup or a big girl cup.

  • You're going to have to tough it out. Sometimes it's more difficult for the parent than the child. She'll eventually cave in, they all do. No one has ever gone to Kindergarten with a bottle.... :)

Lessons for parents---- somethings will be always be tougher for you to endure than child.

  • You're the parent, she's the child. Stop giving her the bottles, get rid of them entirely.

  • So you're trying to stop giving the bottle, and when she is given a bottle of milk she throws it on the floor? Isn't that what you want? What does she do with the cup?

  • Throw the bottles away. Sorry they are simply not here any more.
If you want a drink here is a glass. Skip the sippy cup entirely.

  • My daughter was the same way. We finally had to take all the bottles out to the dumpster, have her tell them bye-bye, and throw them away. It was miserable. It took her a couple of months before she finally gave in and used sippies regularly. During that time, we gave her a lot of yogurt and cheese to keep her taking in enough calcium. Good luck, Mama, and prepare to persevere!
