With Halloween around the corner, name a somewhat appropriate scary movie to show a 9yr old.

My hubby thinks Poltergeist is a great idea, we do want to freak her out a little bit but I can't think of a good one.

  • I looked up a couple more;
    The Corpse Bride,
    Frankenweenie,
    there are Goosebumps movies,
    Casper,
    Paranorman,
    Gremlins (too much?),
    Beetlejuice.

  • I was totally scared of The Goonies when I was that age. Now I think it is pretty tame, but then it was scary without being traumatizing.

  • ABC Family has a whole lineup of movies over the next couple of weeks. Hocus Pocus, Addam's Family, Addam's Family Values, I'd also recommend ANY of the Halloweentown movies.

  • What about something like Maximum Overdrive that's kind of goofy and scary at the same time?
