I think somethings up with our heaters?

so we live in an apartment with baseboard heating.
the wall near my thermostat has always hummed. the other night there was a loud snapping sound and then the heat stopped working and we woke up to a freezing cold apartment. our manager came over and checked it out and it was just the circuit breaker but now when I put the thermostat on 50 degrees, my bedroom gets SUPER warm, where as before I had it on about 60 and it was comfortable.

whaaat is going on??

  • Sounds like it is working better. I had one that hummed and buzzed too. Baseboard heat sucks.

  • I would suggest the you adjust to the new beneficial lower numbers needed to heat your apartment space, and count your blessings. Not having to pay a huge winter heating bill sounds like really good thing to me.

  • The snap you heard was the circuit switch flipping over.
