Stupid daylight savings question...

If we were to stop the practice of DST, it would be darker earlier all year long, not just in the winter, right?

I like when it's lighter longer!! Dark by 5pm is depressing.

  • Doesn't matter where I live. By the middle of winter it's dark by 4:30. In the summer, it'll stay light till 10:00-11:00 or so. In winter we have very few daylight hours.

  • Yes, the days automatically get shorter in the winter. So, honestly, it would be reversed. We should forward our clocks in the, it's dark at 6, not 5. And, go back an hour in summer, so it's dark at 7pm, not 8. It all makes no sense. But, i'm like you, I love the long days of summer.

  • I like it. I prefer it being light out when I get up at 6:30

  • Well, it was nice that it wasn't pitch black for my 5:30 AM walk today, although I think I'll miss seeing the stars when I'm walking! But on the plus side, the local coyotes will have made their way home with the lighter sky! I got quite a scare when a coyote came running down my street about six weeks ago!
