Mother/daughter wedding dance songs?

I am getting married in July and rather than dance with my mother or father, I have promised my daughter that she can have the "special" dance. I was just wondering if you have any songs ideas that might be good for this? I was thinking about dancing with her to Guns N' Roses- Sweet Child of Mine, but she's only going to be five so I am not quite sure that's entirely appropriate.

What are your thoughts? Suggestions? Did you dance with your child at your wedding, and if so, to what?

In my daughter’s Eyes- Martina McBride

Wind Beneath by Wings – Skylar Lane

I hope you dance – LeeAnn Womack

You’re Gonna Be – Reba McIntire

  • I think it's a sweet idea. Why not let her pick out a song?

  • But on 2nd thought, what songs have meaning to the two of you? Are there any songs (from any genre) that you sang to her when she was a baby? Or a current song that the two of you know all the words to?
There's nothing saying it HAS to be a song about a mom/daughter or about a child, just that it's something special the two of you will remember.

  • My DD wants to dance to the LaLaLoopsy theme song; I wanted some ideas of other songs that I could play for her and see if she likes them. :)
