What can I make instead of lasagna for Thanksgiving?

My husband wants it every year. I want to make stuffed endive this year. His mother is against the unethical eating of endive. He's worried I will offend her.

Should I just do the lasagna or risk being unethically immoral in her eyes. She's from Liechenstein and very scary about anything Belguim...especially endive.

Danka.

  • She is scared of eating lettuce?

Endive is a lettuce. What is the ethical issue with eating it?

  • How, exactly, do you stuff endive (would it be similar to a cabbage roll?), and why is it unethical and immoral to eat a plant? Do other kinds of lettuce offend her as well? Would cabbage rolls be immoral? Maybe you could make thos instead? Why not turkey? Isn't that the traditional Thanksgiving entree?

  • I stuff it with ham and Swiss cheese and put a bechamel sauce over it.

No endive offends because of the unethical treatment of the pickers. They are real mean to endive pickers in her country.
