KKK leader says woman who sent her child ToTing in klan robes is disrespecting them

It's not an article from the Onion.  It probably could be, but it's real:

KKK Imperial Wizard Hates to See Kids in Klan Costumes: 'There's No Respect'

So what do you think about his statement about the Blacks?  Have you lost respect for the klan because of their actions?

  • LOL, how can I respect someone that holds the position of something called the Imperial Wizard? Seriously? I just can't.

In my world, you don't just get respect, you earn it.

  • the klan believes they deserve respect?

Not only that, but that they had a measure of it, and have now lost some of it.

  • His chapter of the Klan was responsible for the Birmingham church bombing and he thinks a Halloween costume is "disrespectful"?

The KKK is still active and I think we ignore them at our own peril. But reading his comments you have to think that he's got some sort of weird disconnect going on. "Hate is such a strong word" and "Nowadays we're ostracized … [the way people treat us now] is no different than the way people used to treat African Americans years ago," completely gloss over the entire history of the Klan.

  • I guess I think if it is in bad taste to have a white person where black face when trying to "be" a famous black person and considered a hateful thing then the Klan has every right to feel the same way about impersonating one of them. It is disrespectful for a child to want to dress and a Native American or any ethnic group unless they are not white. This is silly IMO. This is dressing up and pretending. It is a time of year to be something you are not. On the other hand it sounds as though it is this mother that wanted to make a scene (get some attention) and not her child's choice. That then is sad, that she feels her life is so less than that she has to get he minute of fame by exploiting her child.

if it were this easy then maybe we should have a national dress as a KKK member

if we all did it, then they would feel like they had zero respect

(of course not serious) but fun to think how KKK would think if everyone (except them) made fun of them in this 'disrepectful' way
