How long?

I'm adding lentiles to my cowfoot soup. How long do lentiles take to cook? Do you think they will work in cowfoot soup?

  • Here is a good guide on cooking lentils.

I don't even know what cowfoot soup is, so I don't know what works for your soup.

  • I have no idea what cowfoot soup is. I've actually never cooked with lentils before. I might have try lentils sometime.

  • Isn't a cow foot just a hoof?

  • Do you have a recipe? I'm morbidly curious. The soup does not sound appealing; it's kind of like the car wreck you don't want to see but you can't stop looking at.

Is this what you're talking about? If so it sounds yucky, and doesn't have lentils in it.... Sorry I can't make it clicky.

  • It's a tradition soup from Belize. I add cut up hoofs, onions, thyme, carrots, peas and 5 cups water to a pressure cooker. Cook 30 minute. Add dumplings and cook 5 minutes.

I don't think it sounds disgusting, but I'd leave out the okra. Boiled okra is YUCK! I don't see much difference in cow foot/heel vs ham hock (which we use a lot in cooking peas).
