What would you serve?

I'm having a Christmas tree decorating party this weekend. (Don't judge, I'm an atheist and God said I can decorate any time I want.)

We'll be having a shit ton of spiked egg nog, which can be pretty heavy on the stomach. So I kind of want something light or crispy - the complete opposite of egg nog. Any ideas or favorite recipes?

  • I'd go with salty snacks like mixed nuts, rice crackers, maybe chips and dip, onion rings, things like that. Or Totino's Party Pizza, if you want something more substantial. Unless you're thinking healthy, then I'll have to switch gears and get back with you. *Smile.* Now I've got eggnog on the brain. Mmm.

  • I do things like baby burritos, sausage balls, spinach artichoke dip with bread to dip in it, a veggie platter and fruit platter, and of course Christmas cookies for dessert.

  • You can put up a tree any time you want. I have two decorative artificial trees that have clear lights all year round and I turn them on whenever I want.
Are you having a real tree or artificial? Just curious. I love real. I love the smell and "feel" I hate that they dry out and the needles fall. Sigh. I have real wreaths instead now.
A stand by of course is cheese and crackers
I am fond of anything that you can stuff in filo dough lol
    Mushrooms or chopped meat mixtures
If you have an idea of what type I might be able to sift through mine and help better. Veggies? Cheese? More of a small meal? sweet?

  • It's an artificial tree. I'm far too lazy to keep up with a live tree.

I think we'll definitely be doing cheese & crackers.
    I love filo dough.
I'm thinking just appetizer type stuff.
