S/O from yesterday: Pinto Beans and Corn Bread?

Okay ladies, this is truly something I have never ate before. How do you fix it and what makes it so great? It's got my interested peaked now.

  • get dry beans
rinse and pick out little bits of stuff that look odd ( nothing gross)
put in pot or crock pot cover - mom says 2" above beans with water
cut up some bacon, the thicker slices work good adds flavor
you can put in crock pot or on stove-
stove boil then simmer for a few hours adding seasonings- salt pepper etc about half way
cock pot I add seasoning and cook on low until done, I also add chuncs of onion

we put in bowls over a pc of cornbread- buttered or not your choice
