Am i wrong?

my 14 year old has her first official boyfriend. my mother thinks my rules for this relationship are a bit strict, but shes 14. my rules are
1) physical contact is limited to hand holding and hugging hello and goodbye.
2) dates must not be unchaperoned. they must be chaperoned either by me or my designated chaperone or his parents (or other designated chaperone)
3) phone conversations must be limited to 30 mins and take place within my hearing and i get to read all incoming and outgoing texts.

shes 14 but looks like shes 18 or older she has definitely developed a womans body. are my rules too strict for my just turned 14 year old?

  • 14 year olds don't date chaperoned or not, this is what is wrong with teens today. Too much adult like freedom too soon.

They can text, and then talk at school and see each other at school functions if they go. They do not need more than that. if they go tot the skating rink fine stuff like that.

No way would I take my 14 year old to a movie and call it a date.

  • Those are the rules for my 14 year old son. I don't think it is too strict. There is no way in hell that I want a grandbaby in the next five years.

  • She's lucky she's allowed to date at 14. I think your rules are very reasonable.

  • Your rules are not strict enough. My girls couldn't date tell they where 18.

  • My son won't be dating at 14. Since you are letting her date I think your rules are fine.
