Why do my sugar cookies taste like dough?

I've made this exact recipe many times and they were great! But now all of sudden every time I make it, it ends up tasting like dough...which is kind of gross. I know I didn't do anything wrong with the ingredients/measuring(I checked and re-checked).
What am I doing wrong?! Could I be over mixing it?

  • The recipe may have been intended to use with icing or sugar on top.

  • The only thing I can think of is that maybe your oven isn't as hot as it once was. That would mean you would need to increase your baking time. My oven is old and unreliable at times.

  • Did you add the vanilla or almond flavor?? Did you use the real stuff or the imitation? Could that be it?

  • I agree with the oven, mine is getting tired and it just doesn't get as hot as it once did, cookies are not as good.
