Anyone else with Tornado Warnings today?

Sirens are going off, but the sun is shining. Storms are moving 70 MPH though. How strange.

  • DS cracks me up. He is on high alert any time there's a weather alert, and this one gave him plenty to work with. He stays glued to the tv the entire time, constantly checks the windows, constantly asks where the stuff on the map is in relation to us. DH gets home and asks if we were ok. DS tells him, "Mom was scared, but we got through it." Ok, whatever LOL.

The worst went north and south of us, though the wind sounds a lot worse now than it was during the main part of the storm. Heard that my cousin is ok and so is her house (she's near Washington).

  • We have a PDS (particularly dangerous situation).  I like how they keep inventing new, scarier terms every year to spice up those boring old "sever weather watches" that are SO 2010...

Note that despite all those scary looking arrows, it appears the vast majority of it all is following the lake north and going to miss us.

  • Our latest weather report shows the line of storms that just leveled Peoria, IL is headed our way. We have about an hour before it's supposed to hit. We better not get leveled, I didn't take a shower today & just spent part of the afternoon doing some major cleaning! ;p  We have a basement if need be.  Will keep ya posted.

  • We have a high wind warning, with gusts up to 70 mph. Tornado Watches are in effect until 8pm. Fingers crossed, b/c November tornadoes are notoriously nasty. Stay safe.

  • I thought we were done with that season. I'm a bit far north of the tornado/dangerous storms.

Stay safe m-avi and anyone else in its path

  • Not here. It's supposed to be 83 and partly cloudy.

Positive thoughts for those that are in the danger zones.
