Black Friday?

Do other countries do Black Friday shopping like the USA does? We lived in Germany and I do not remember them doing it.

  • Since it is the day after Thanksgiving here, I suspect they don't. Maybe the line between businesses being in the red and the black isn't as clear cut.

  • I read that it's usually only advertised for online sales. Not local stores.

  • My guess is no they don't because Thanksgiving is a holiday only celebrated in this country and Black Friday is the shopping day right after Thanksgiving. If not for Thanksgiving there would be no Black Friday. Therefore it is unique to this country.
