1 Bump

My 5 yr old daughter likes to pretend that she's a cat..she will run around on all fours and meow and try to get me to put a water bowl on the floor...

She also now pretends she is a hairless cat stripping down to panties (because clothes represent fur). She will only do this one when dad and brother are gone cause boys can't see her like that. Is this weird? She has an unbelievable imagination and I just need to know is this an ok part of it?

  • Oh and the clothes thing shows that she is modest... which in my opinion is a good thing.

  • Yes. My daughter has me call her woofster when she's a dog and custard when she's a cat.

  • Dd went through an animal phase around 4-5 years old. Wanted to have her water in a bowl on the floor. DS never did that though. I think it's pretty normal.

  • mine did this and still does
but years back she would not come out of character
..if tou asked her if she was a dog, she would not correct you with human english words, she would just meow

when she was three, she had this one eval by speech pathologist, she meowed the whole session..and licked the woman's ankles
    LOL

mine is spectrum, so she takes some things to a higher level
