  • What? WIC never did anything medical for me they did check my children's weight though. They are not doctors or nurses or even nutritionists at ours and I would have refused to let them do anything medical on me or my children. They did have us get paperwork filled out and signed by the doctors though. Good luck.

  • Yes you will. They need to check if you are anemic. Also there will be a ton of paperwork to fill out, they will weigh you, and ask about your eating habits. They will treat you like you are stupid and talk down to you. They will look for a reason for you to be "high risk" so they can increase their funding. If you play along like a good little monkey they will give you checks to buy food.

  • Are you pregnant or are you getting WIC for a child? And yes they will prick your finger or your child's to check iron level. Do you know what your iron level is? It's precautionary, because many women have low iron without realizing it. You'll go over nutrition and everything that entails (healthy weight, not smoking, etc) and ask about breast feeding vs formula.
