Any creative ideas.............

........for something to put into two square 16x16" pots I have on either side of my front door? I had a small spruce in each pot but this hot summer did them in. I used to put lights & bows on them for Christmas. For the fall, I just put a mum in each one but I need an inexpensive idea for something to put in them for the Holidays.

So any ideas?

Thanks!

  • In my empty pots I have inexpensive wooden signs painted like snowmen and evergreen boughs.

  • Look on craigslist for artificial Christmas trees. Get two and cut them down to size being sure you have a long enough trunk to secure it in the pot and decorate. You can put them out each year with no worries.

  • You could get a couple of fake topiaries? That's what I plan on doing. I'm all about no upkeep & tend to kill living things. I swear, the only reason my kids survived infancy is they cried to remind me that they were there.

  • You could wrap boxes and stack them on the pots. I'm sure you'd want secure them somehow, though.

  • I'm in the Northeast so it's getting colder by the day here. I wish it were warm enough for cactus though. Thanks!
