How do I get started with an In Home Daycare?

I am a stay at home mom & would like to start an in-home-daycare.. but I have no idea how to get started. is there a website that has info I can use? has anyone else had a daycare in North Dakota? How much should I charge?

  • Start by checking with your county's licensing agencies; you'll need a business license and probably one from the state as well. It may seem like an expensive step but it's an assurance for parents.

    You can get a license to operate from your state child care division. If needed you can get assistance from you local county offices ( extra cribs, toys etc) . However- if you have the county involved they will dictate how many toddlers and infants you can have. I did not have the county involved because with my kids and those of friends, I would not have been allowed to watch as many toddlers as I wanted to.
