My daughter is a tomboy and doesn't want to have a party at home. WHAT DO I DO???

I'm almost in denial because my daughter is turning 11 but I don't know what to do. (Her birthday's in the winter, so she can't have a pool party)

  • What does being a tomboy have to do with having a party? These are separate matters.

What does she WANT to do to celebrate her birthday? Is it within your budget? If not, tell her no, we can't do that.

Not nearly enough info here to give you any more than that.

  • So what does she want to do? Birthday parties aren't obligatory ... Or does she fancy the idea of going to an adventure park? Lots of them organize birthdays and they're a lot of fun!

    Why is this upsetting you?

  • why doesn't she want to have a party at home?

there are a lot of fun things they could do... we always had the parties at our home! We have had movie themed parties ( Burton style, Repo The Genetic Opera/ Rocky Horror style, Harry Potter ...) get a bunch of glow sticks- those are always a winner and we get them for almost every party. I bake cakes and decorate them to go with whatever theme we are doing...we have had parties that were based on Aliens, Princess, Survivor, pirates... all at home and all fun

  • You do what you can afford to do. If that means party at home so be it.
