Anyone know about PSA test?

Does anyone know if PSA test is part of routine yearly bloodwork or is it something that DH will have to request? Thanks for any info.

  • It is best to request the test or any others he is concerned with. With DH, he requested the first one or two and then it became standard on his tests.

  • It depends largely on his age and his doctor. He just needs to ask his doctor :)

  • Just have him ask his doctor to do it. If it's standard, the doctor should say so. If it's not, the doctor may ask why he wants it or discuss it with him, but then there won't be any doubt about whether it's going to be done or not.

  • Yes, he plans to ask about it. I just was wondering if it might be routine when bloodwork is ordered. He did not get a copy of his bloodwork results last time it was done, so I couldn't check that. We'll definitely look into this.
