I almost always end up grating my knuckle along with the soap

I make my own laundry soap. I need to grate the soap.
Can anyone think of something I could make or buy to protect my thumb? It's bleeding like crazy!
I try so hard to not do it,and end up doing it anyway

  • I picked up a used food processor a couple of years ago and use that. Grating soap is such a pain.

  • They also make safety gloves for butchers and cooks to use when cutting meat. Check with a restaurant supply.

  • A friend told me she uses one of those "slap-chop" type things to finish off the ends of the bars.

  • I use my food processor. It's worked very well for grating soap to make laundry detergent!

  • I'll have to look for one. I think I took off about 3 layers of skin
