  • People want to say they are defending his free speech. That he should not have lost his 'job' due to his discriminating statements. However they fail to take into account that the station has an obligation to it's viewers and they have the right to deem if the word coming out of his mouth are damaging to their business.

  • Dear Anon:

How have his rights to express his faith and his beliefs been taken away?

  • I love that we verbally executed Paula Deen for something racist she said 15 years ago and apologized for but this, this we defend. ::rolls eyes::

  • He didn't lose his free speech, he lost his compensated speech, which is not a right.

  • The fact is that A&E knew what his beliefs were and they knew he was outspoken. I really think that they thought the show would be more about laughing at the family rather then people liking the family. They knew what kind of person he was and that he wasn't likely to "keep his opinions to himself". They still hired him.

And they have the right to fire him as well, but they will be losing a bunch of cash in doing so.
