What are you guys cooking today?

we're having some friends over for Christmas eve dinner (since we're not flying to see our families to different states this year)
so i'm making lasagna (ground beef and spinach), scalloped potatoes, garlic bread, baked salmon with steamed veggies and i wanted to make one more dish so i made chicken and bell pepper Manchurian (found cooked packaged Manchurian noodles at the store today). I know Chinese food does not go with Italian, but i didn't know what else to make so i decided to go with this. It's a quick dish! :)
For dessert I made Tiramisu
Tomorrow we're invited some place else for Christmas dinner/party, so no cooking tomorrow.
What about you guys? What are you making today or tomorrow ?

  • I'm not in charge of much today. My brother is spending Christmas with us, so he's doing most of the work. All I have to do later is roast asparagus and bake some potatoes. He's making the prime rib.

I'll be cooking dinner tomorrow, though. We're having beef broccoli, fried rice, cream cheese wontons with sweet & sour sauce, and pork potstickers.

Wish Christmas wasn't on a Wednesday this year!

  • Not a thing. Today we won't be home until about 7 - I'm probably stuck at work until 5, and then we have to go and get my son from his dad's house... so by the time we're home it's gonna be past dinner time. Tomorrow, it's off to parents' house for dinner.

  • Nothing today. Tomorrow morning we'll have a nice little family breakfast of bacon and eggs and cinnamon rolls. We'll go and have a ham dinner with some friends; I'll take green bean casserole and some of my goofball cookies that Mae helped me name yesterday. Friday night we'll go have pulled pork sandwiches with a dear cousin of mine we don't get to see too often; I'll take potato salad and some more cookies. Sunday morning we'll go to a big family brunch that we celebrate on that weekend to accommodate everybody's crazy schedules. I kind of like it all spread out that way instead of everything crammed together into two days. That's where we'll have red chili and menudo, tamales and tortillas, biscochitos, the whole deal. Big, noisy crowds. A little bit of everything this week, I guess.

  • So far today I've made baby burritos, sausage balls, spinach artichoke dip, and stuffed mushrooms, next I'm making a cheeseball and a veggie and fruit platter. Tomorrow we'll be having all of the leftovers, plus a ham and rolls...oh and of course our tamales. They're already made, just have to steam them.
