  • I use it on my kids and find if you use it early in the cold, it works better than several days in.

  • I've never used it, but my nose is running like a faucet. Maybe I'll pick some up tomorrow.

  • I've used it for chest congestion, but not for nasal congestion. Mucinex breaks up mucus to get it out of your chest. If you've got a runny nose, you might do better with a different product.

  • Mucinex will only work on chest congestion. Sinus pressure needs something like Sudafed
I use the generic form for bronchitis

  • If it's just your nose, I swear, I use Benadryl (whole pill at bed time and half during the day). Dries it out.

  • Mucinex is supposed to thin out an loosen mucus mainly in the chest and throat. If your nose is running, I doubt you need to thin it out. Sudafed can be used for nasal congestion. Benadryl can help dry up a runny nose.

  • I've used Mucinex for myself before many times, love the stuff. Just started using it on one of my kids last night and it's equally as great.

  • Use a plain decongestant like Sudafed for that, not mucinex.

  • Sudafed wasn't cutting it earlier even after a double dosage. I'm doing a lot better now that I slept for a bit. Thanks for everyone's advice. : )
