  • From what I've read it is worth it. We have it, and it offers some protection against the high costs of long term health care. My mother has it and needed in home assistance, but it wouldn't kick in for 6 months, and by then she would have had to pay $20 an hour for someone to be with her. So I'm not entirely convinced, but feel better having it than not. Like any insurance that I know of, younger and healthier gets a lower premium than older or sick.

  • No we don't but I have often thought about adding it. It IS important. We have a decent life insurance policy but that may not be enough.

  • From what I've read at, there are about 70% of Americans who are 65 and above that will require long term care. Also, about 40% of people between the age of 18 and 64 will need the said type of care. This only shows that everyone is at risk of needing long term care and thus people should purchase long term care insurance.
