My son is constipated

Ands stupid me gave him bananas for breakfast. What will help him better now: Apples or Pears? I am out of prunes!

He is 6 months old

  • I think the pears are more binding. I would use the applesauce.

  • apples and pears (baby food or juice) should both help him.. also apricots, or vegetables with lots of fiber such as carrots, peas, and green beans can help

  • Depending on how old he is, if you give him some of that sugar free candy, it will do the trick. It has a laxative effect.
    If you don't want to do that, apple juice works too.

  • do you have any karo syrup around? the dark stuff, not the light. Someone told me about that when ds had constipation around 7 months. you mix about a table spoon in with just plain water or formula in their bottle.(1-2 times in a day) Should take effect in less than 24 hours.
