how much vitamin c can you take breastfeeding an sick.

i take a prenatal vitamin that has 120 mg . i bought some chewable vitamin c that is 500mg would it be fine to take that with my prenatal i have quit a bad sore thorat..

  • vit. C is water soluble so you should be fine. however taking vit. C after you have symptoms really doesnt help at all. its better to take it all the time to prevent illness, not stop it.

  • Like the first reply said, taking vitamin c after you have symptoms of being sick doesn't help your body at all. You will feel much better by increasing your fluid intake, and drinking lots of warm beverages such as hot lemon water or tea. However, if you still want to take the Vit C, it should not be a problem--since it is water-soluable, your body gets rids of any extra it doesn't need through your urine.
