What can I take to a scout banquet that is quick, easy and cheap?

It needs to be a meat or main dish. I would like something quick and easy since I have to help with the set up tomorrow also and won't have lots of time to cook. Any suggestions would be appreciated!!

  • Throw some meatballs and BBQ sauce in a crockpot or little smokies!

  • Costco had big bags of frozen meatballs that are actually really good, throw them in a crockpot with sauce!
(For a real main dish you could throw them in some Prego Sauce and make some spaghetti noodles to go with them)

  • a pan of Mexican corn bread---mix according to package---brown 1 lb hamburger---drain---1 small can green chilies-chopped, 1 can cream corn, add corn and chilies to corn bread mix, pour 1/2 mixture into a 9x13 pan--put in hamburger and as much cheddar or Monterrey jack/colby shredded as want (within reason) top with rest of cornbread mixture--bake--until golden brown---simple good and nothing left--have sour cream, salsa and guacamole with it---then when you are home have a shot of Patron and go to sleep.

  • Baked Ziti with meatballs... buy frozen meatballs and cook them in sauce, then toss them with cooked penne pasta, top with a bit of mozzarella cheese and bake. Its even easier than lasagna but its yummy and you get the same affect.
