mY daughter is 18 lbs 9 oz, but looks huge. Is it ok to face her forward now? in her car seat?

  • I'd wait until she's 35 lbs before forward facing her. It's safer.

  • 20 lbs AND a year old is the minimum requirements. I still say 35 lbs.

  • Its recommended that your child be at least 1 year old before forward facing. It has something to do with physical development as well as weight.

    But the decsion is yours. Be aware of the risks of facing a child forward too early.

  • Most laws state the child has to be a year old OR a certain weight. 18 lbs is no where near what the child needs to be in order to face forward.

  • Law says 1 year or 20lbs. So no on both count.

    Rear facing is safest, so just keep her that way if you want her safe.

  • im not facing my son forward until hes 2 or 2 and a half, a lady whos son goes to day care with mine told me that her friends daughter was 18 months and facing forward and they got into an accident and her daughter has permanent brain damage!!!
