Has anyone ever had this procedure done?

I have to take a radiation pill @ 10:00 am one day and then go have a scan done on my thyroid the next morning @ 10:00 am. Has anyone else ever had to do this?

  • Yes I have had this procedure done due to hyperthyroidism. It doesn't hurt you just go in and take a pill and the next day you will have a telescope lookin thing put up to your neck it won't touch it and it takes like 2 minutes it doesn't make any scary noises. Then they will put it towards your upper thigh as your sitting down to see how much other parts of your body absorbs the radio iodine compared to your thyroid. No big deal at all.
