  • Are you breastfeeding? It is very common for a breastfed baby to need to nurse every 1-2 hours in the first few weeks.

  • It's totally normal and it's just a phase. He probably is hungry. Babies tend to have growth spurts around that age. Just hang in there and do your best to keep up with baby's demands. This phase will pass.

  • he is hungry that is what babies that age do...I was actually told in the hospital that if they don't wake up to wake them...I used to have to wake my DD every 2 hours to eat b/c she wanted to will get better....

  • Feed him. Some doctors will say to keep the baby on a strict schedule, but when you're baby shows signs of hunger, feed him. He won't eat more than he needs. How long does he nurse, or how much formula does he take at a time? My third baby fed about every two hours in the beginning.

  • sounds like a growth spurt! keep feeding him, especially if you're breastfeeding--he is trying to build your supply and the only thing that helps is more breastfeeding. it gets easier! those first few weeks are hard but it gets so much easier. hang in there!

  • Our FD ate 2 oz every 1-2 hours at first. Right now his tummy is tiny and it's easy to fill up fast. Feed him, he'll eat & sleep alot the first few weeks. Good luck!

  • Sounds like a normal newborn.

  • This is very normal. Your baby has a tummy the size of a walnut, he doesn't THINK he's ungry, he IS hungry. Feed him as often as he wants he's your precious baby.
