  • He is going to be tried as an adult but in honesty should go as a child. Once they process him and do competancy tests and iq tests its going to make the case messy. I also think a full investigation needs to be done at the home to see if any abuse was ongoing, why the weapons were easily accessable with ammo and all that.

  • It is so sad!!!! I just read that he will be tried as an adult. Look at nathanial Abraham, he was convicted and tried as a child, theyen when he got out he is STILL in tons of trouble with the law!!!

  • He should be tried as an adult. He knew that death was final and that by shooting her he was killing her AND the baby she was carrying. Eleven is plenty old enough to understand that. My girls are 7 & 8 and know death is final. Let him off easy and all it does is shows others there are no consequences for their actions. I KNOW he is a child and so people think we should feel so sorry for him.....BUT what about HER other 2 children, HER parents, what about the BABY she as carrying that never even got a chance!? He understood the consequencesof his actions and should be tried as an adult.

  • I believe he knew what he was doing. He deliberately took a shotgun, loaded it, went into the step-mother's room, shot her in the back of the head with a blanket covering the gun, went to his room, put the gun in the closet, then went on to school. At 11 years old he is very aware of life and death. He hunts and that in itself is a lesson about life and death. He should be punished to the max for this. He took 2 lives. Deliberately. It is not like he was cleaning the gun and it accidently went off. This was a deliberate action on his part. And, remember. The gun didn't just get up and go fire itself. This boy was the gun handler.

  • Not as an adult, no. He was only 11 yrs old. The reason this CHILD had a gun of his on is still mind boggling to me...

what good does placing and 11year old in an adult prison?? i say juvinile life is a better fit..which means he would be incarcerated until he was 21. thats 10 years...

he does need to be held accountable for his actions but not in an adult prison...

do we even know what is was like inside the home? i mean come' on the boy had his own gun so i am thinking the parenting skills were a little off...
