  • On a growth chart... like what the doctors plot growth on...

At 13 months and 22 lbs for a little girl it puts her just above the 50th percentile.... so unless she is very short she wouldn't be overweight at all.

For a 7 month old boy at 16 lbs he is below the 10th percentile so he is actually pretty small for his age

BUT it all depends on how tall each child is. And boys are different than girls. And formula fed is different than breastfed. And at around 6 months growth really slows for most children so he might be the same size as your daughter at 13 months.

  • It's pretty average. My son at 8 mos was 18 lbs, and now, at 18 mos is 19lbs 8 oz, so they do taper off once they start walking and as they get older.

  • my friend's four month old that lives with us was 14 lbs last week so no. It also depends on if the baby is bf or formula feed. Formula seems to plump babies up more.

  • My 8 month old is almost 22 lbs. Every baby is different just like every adult is different.

  • Oh, and he is formula fed but not "plump." He is long and perfectly proportioned.

  • My boys were 20 and 22lbs at 6 months. So, no, I don't think 16lbs is huge. lol

  • it depends on birth weight. they should doble in weight by 6 months, so at 7 months should be a bit more than that. my son was 9lb 5.6oz at birth, he is 19lbs 9oz at 7 1/2 months.
