Do you believe this??

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090224/ap_on_bi_st_ma_re/wall_street

Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke told Congress that the recession might end this year and that regulators aren't planning to nationalize banks.
Now today stocks have gone up. He also said the first 6 months may get worse but after that things will get better.

Do you really believe this or do you think it is more of a false hope to give Americans some confidence?

  • How can it get better if we are going to have another stimulus bill that spends money?

  • If it is going to start getting better after 6 months, why did we need to enact a bill that doesn't start the bulk of its spending till 2010-2011? Could we have cut even MORE out of the stimulus? Where is Tim Geithner?  Is he still curled up in the fetal position afraid to address the DETAILS of his plan?  After all he is the only one (according to Obama) to get us out of this mess.

  • A typical recession lasts 18 months, we are in month 15. Yes, it is possible the recession will be coming out soon. And the praise will go to.........?? Guess who.
I am one of those that believed most of this was all false fear all along, to get what Obama wanted. He used fear tactics to get his bills passed and criticized McCain for using fear tactics during the campaign. Hello? Americans, anyone awake out there?
