  • Ah, son. Not SO (significant other).

    It could go any way, he could be great about it, he could hate not being the baby anymore, or he could adjust to it just fine - the main thing is that you try to keep him as involved as possible.

  • I'd get some picture books about being a big brother and having a new baby in the house. Starting no more than 2 months before, start reading them to him.

    Also, start having "mommy & me" time with him. A once a week "date" with just him where you go do something fun. It could be just a trip to the ice cream store, a special park to feed ducks, or something bigger like bowling (yep, toddlers can "bowl"). Have your hubby do the same. When the baby arrives, make a point of still doing this. Each of you taking turns having a "date" with one child while the other has a "date" with the other child. Keep this up for YEARS and it will really help when they hit the "tween" years.
