What week does a woman usually go into labor?

  • it is different for every single person. Anything past 37 weeks is considered "term" and safe for delivery. Before that is "preterm" and could mean problems for you, the baby, or both.

  • everyone keeps telling me for first time moms
    it is normal to go past the due date and most have there kids at 41 weeks
    i hope that is true lol

  • Normal human gestation is 38-42 weeks, a due date is just the middle of that. that is why its called an Estimated Due Date!

  • First time moms average 41 weeks 1 day. Average gestation is 38 to 42 weeks, depending on when during your cycle you conceived. Some moms gestate longer and will go 43 weeks or a little longer without problems. And then there is always the due dates based on ultrasounds which can be off by 2 weeks, so when you think you are 41 weeks, you might really only be 39 weeks, kwim?
