Are you giving anything up for Lent?

If you are Catholic: Will you get ashes tomorrow? Do you want to share what you will abstain from for Lent? Do you have any other Lenten traditions?

  • I'll be attending Mass and getting ashes tomorrow. I'll also be fasting and absaining from meat. But I'm not giving up something - instead I'm going to spend some time each day in quiet reflection and prayer.

  • I am Methodist and we have and Ash Wednesday service. The pastor will impose the ashes on our forheads and we do give up something for Lent.
In the past, I gave up Cable, Cola's and going our at lunch.
I very seldom drink colas, don't go out to lunch--from work--I bring my lunch. These have been good. A friend gives up watching March Madness. (He breathes basketball)
I am praying about what I will give up for Lent. I will figure it out before the service tomorrow night.

  • I am neither catholic or methodist but I could stand to give up Cafemom for lent. LOL Luckily I'm not catholic or methodist so I don't have to give anything up.
