  • There are a number of companies that will alow you to work from home. IF you are looking for a JOB and not a business you'll be required to work a certain amount of time and be paid per job or per hour depending on the company. There are some great places to start looking - Check out, and there was an article on Yahoo also.  There are home businesses with little to no start up..  Check out  for a small list of some of them.

  • I use several free places. You can check out my full list at Make Money Online or you can look into the Freelance Writing company I just started working with.

  • Why not start a home business with DiamondCreek Candles? That's what I did and I began making $ right away. I can have you up and running as early as tomorow! The company gives you your own web site to promote however you want, the products are so beautiful that everyone is sure to find something that they love. We also have a ton of new products coming out this year; we just added body oil roll ons and so much more to come.

  • Just remember that Direct Sales companies like those listed above really aren't money makers. At least not Live off of and pay the bills. You might make a few dollars or even $20 a week if you are lucky....but for most direct sales are difficult because friends and family will only buy so much and no one is spending on the "extras" these companies sell right now. I sold Avon for years and would buy 500+ brochures to pass out, would have events, would call people, would hand them out to strangers, and buying those, samples, demos and such usualy made my OWING Avon after I collected the money from my actual sales. In fact Avon themselves state that 90% of their reps lose money the first year and that's why most don't even last a year.

An actual JOB, where you clock in and earn a paycheck no matter what are almost impossible to come by. Most companies that allow workers to stay at home do this with employees....

  • ...that have been with them for years, and they still usualy commute to the office once or twice a week. Online Surveys can put a few extra dollars in your pocket but nothing consistant. You'll spend your day ignoring the housework and the kids and filling out surveys to earn a $10 check each month.

Your best bet is to start your own business at home. Babysit for other local families, offer to run their errands like shopping, clean houses in your neighborhood. Go to thrift stores and yard sales and look for name brand things you can sell on eBay....or sell things in your house on eBay and then start buying things to sell, again at thift stores or from a wholesaler.

If you want perhaps you and your husband can start a more concrete business. My fiance and I just started a carpet cleaning business using an encapsulating machine rather than steam cleaning. It's more efficient, eco-friendly and the start up costs...

  • ...were low. We purchased a package deal that included two machines, pads and cleaners for about $4800, we financed it so it's monthly payments of $250 for the machine. We are doing really well and purchasing most advertising material through Vista Print so we get many things for free. We did pay big bucks to get into the local Home and Garden show but this show generated over $50 million in revenue for the 400 or so venders last year so the piece of that pie is well worth the cost to get into the show.

Of course there are lots of other businesses you can start as well, but thats just one example of what we are doing. Our website is if you want to see videos on the machine and how well it does and how easy to I have pics on my computer showing my 4 year old using the machine and cleaning our carpet!
