When did your baby stop slobbering all the time?

My DD slobbers more than any baby Ive ever seen! and she is 16 months old, I can put a shirt on her and within 2 seconds its soaked in slobber, I cant put bibs on her because she pulls them off, what can I do, if anything?

  • Is she teething? My nephew teethed until about 18 months and would soak everything until then. I don't think there is anything you can do except not bother changing her shirt every 10 seconds. A little dampness won't hurt her.

  • My oldest stopped before he was a year old.

My two youngest ones still do it...they are 2 and 3. They have low oral motor tone, though and we're working on it with their speech and OT.

  • Hmm, my son stopped when he finished cutting his front teeth. His back teeth never made him drool quite as much. We had to do the double-bib thing as well, but not because he pulled them off, just because there was SO much slobber. We'd put one under his shirt and one over. I'd say he stopped by around 12 months or so though, if I remember correctly. But his teeth came in rather fast as well, so that may have been why it ended sooner for him.
