When did your baby start turning his head when you said his name?

My son will be 6 months on Monday and he seems to do it sometimes but other times he doesn't so I'm not sure if he's turning his head because he hears my voice and doesn't know his name. Or he knows his name and he's just ignoring me at times? And do you know what the normal age is for when they should know their name?

  • My son started responding to his name around 4-5 months old. But was very selective about it. If he was doing something or looking at something more interesting than me, he would ignore me. He started to really respond around 7 1/2 month. Now, I can get him to stop doing something simply by calling his name.

  • yup 4-5 months. my son is almost 7 months. He knows his name, he just ignores it when he doesnt want to be bothered. If I yell.. Nicholas! he'll stop what ever hes doing it's too cute!
