George W. Bush

Do you think that George Bush should have to go in front of congress and explain why he lied to the American people in order to go to war that left thousands permanently disabled and thousands more dead?

  • no our country went down the crapper as soon as gw bush stepped foot in office i am so glad he is gone out of office and we have another good president in office again this country was doing well while Clinton was in office and i am already seeing the great changes our new president Obama is making i am confident in him bringing this country back to where it should be,the way it was before bush screwed it all up..

What kool-aide have you been drinking? Clinton got us in this mess with his housing bill and Obama has put us so far in debt we will never see daylight.

  • He was the president and doesnt have to explain why he went to war. Sorry about your friends but last I checked this was an all volunteer army and we sometimes do go to war. He didnt ruin this country. It takes more then 8 yrs to bring down a country. Its been going bad since Clinton was in office. Get over it. Move ON.

  • I'm not a big fan of Bush, but I have to agree w/ anon :49. Congress declares war, not the President. Bush was given information, and Congress was given information based on that, war was declared.

  • I am sorry you lost those friends. That's awful. Hind sight is 20/20. I think the percentage of the American people behind him at the time was over 70% AND the House and Senate votes FOR the war were equally as high. He was going with the intelligence that he had! No he should NOT have to get up there b/c he would have to reveal things I would rather our enemies not know! We are at WAR ........ STILL. Do you know the god awful things Saddam did to those people!!!???? If he didn't have them he WOULD have soon and he WOULD have used them on US!

AND the thing that is often lost on you Liberals is the fact that we have NOT been attecked on our soil.....where my kids are....since 9/11!!!

  • 6 years ago, congress was given the documentation to make the case for war, skimmed the cliff notes version that their assistants wrote up based on summaries that addressed the key points, and then voted to declare war. Two weeks ago, congress was given a 1100 page bill making the case for handing out a trillion dollars, skimmed the cliff notes version that their assistants wrote up based on summaries that addressed the key points, and then voted to pass the bill.

At what point is someone going to hold THEM accountable for THEIR actions?
